Thank you for writing this! I always tell people this one of the most invaluable movies of our time, and needs to be re-discovered. It ages incredibly well because Sagan’s messages are timeless. I think Roger Ebert re-reviewed it again before he died to make it clear how it was such a pivotal film, with clear messages about our future. My favorite quote is:

Palmer Joss: “Is the world fundamentally a better place because of science and technology? We shop at home, we surf the Web… at the same time, we feel emptier, lonelier and more cut off from each other than at any other time in human history…”
